Mr. Mike's Neighborhood
Mike Whitty
My name is Mike Whitty, and along with Linda Varee, we'd like to Welcome you to Mr. Mike's Neighborhood. Some of you may recognize us from our walks around the park, or others may have passed by my beautiful garden. But I'm a 14 year resident, own my home, and am planning on spending the rest of my years in this beautiful park. And it's for this reason that I'm offering my Neighbors, Mr. Mike's Neighborhood. I want every Neighbor to enjoy this Community as much as I do; to know your Neighbors, to take pride in your Community, to have a vested interest in making your, and your Neighbors time here as enjoyable and memorable as possible. And more importantly, to have some fun. Plus, you'll experience the pride in knowing that you had a hand in it.

Mr. Mike has been a resident at Lafayette Place for over 14 years. He started Mr. Mike's Neighborhood 3 years ago which has provided his Neighbors with food, clothing, toys and more. He has dedicated his life to helping his Neighbors have a wonderful experience while here.
Miss Linda has been a resident at Lafayette Place for over 36 years. Her expertise in working with Section 8 housing added a special quality to Mr. Mike's Neighborhood. She has helped many Neighbors navigate their way through mobile home living and has proven to be an asset in every way.
It didn't take long for Mr. Mike's Neighborhood to realize the needs of his Community, and the desire to help. From the very beginning, Mr. Mike made it his goal to try and create a better Community, a Community where Neighborhoods are developed and residents are brought together for a common goal, to experience a better quality of life.
Mr. Mike's Neighborhood doesn't concentrate on creating events, since money is always at a minimum. They don't charge membership fees or ask for donations, so the Association is self-funded. But what they lack in creating fun, they make up with a true humanitarian effort like changing our Seniors smoke detector batteries, ceiling light bulbs and furnace filter. Mr. Mike and Miss Linda make Lafayette Place Mobile Home Park a better place to live. For his Neighbors he's only a phone call away.
Neighbors can find the library and food pantry's at #828
Free Children's Book Library
Free Food Pantry
Free Fruit Pantry
When we learned that the children in our area were reading way below grade level, we created the Free Children's Library.
When we realized that even food stamps didn't go a long way for some of our Neighbors, we created the Free Food Pantry to fill that need.
When we learned that the children in our area weren't getting enough fruit in their diets, we created the Free Fruit Pantry to make our kids healthier.
These Pantry's are to benefit the entire Community.
We would appreciate our Neighbors help in keeping them full.
Porch Pirate Pickup Program
Porch pirates take advantage of packages left outside your home when no one is there to receive them. So we created the Porch Pirate Pickup Program.
Once you receive information that your package has been delivered, just text me your name and house number and we will pick it up, free of charge as always.
Once you return home just drop by #828 to retrieve your package. Our program can decrease porch theft in our Community by 100%
Neighbor's Giving Days
Throughout the week we receive donations of books, food, clothing, toys and much more from our Neighbors who give back to their Community. On Saturday and Sunday, weather and donation volume permitting, you'll experience the generosity that exists within Lafayette Place Mobile Home Park with their gifts.
To donate clothing, have them washed, folded and placed in a bag. You can leave all donations on my porch at #828.
All items displayed are always free.
